Draperstown Celtic FC Golf Classic
August 20, 2007
Draperstown Celtic’s annual golf classic, held last Friday, proved to be a great success with 24 teams battling it out for the great selection of prizes on offer. Played at Moyola Park golf course, everyone involved enjoyed fantastic weather and a course which was in really excellent condition.
Following a well deserved meal in the club house, prizes were presented to the first five teams together with individual prizes for nearest the pin, the longest drive and those successful in the two’s competition.
Draperstown Celtic would like to thank the captain, council and members of Moyola Park golf course for the use of their excellent facility together with the catering staff who produced a very fine meal. Thanks are especially extended to Alex Leacock, course ranger who as always gave great assistance during the day.
The club are very grateful to members Paddy Mallon and Ronan Bradley who share the responsibility of organising the annual event and who put a great deal of time and effort into this important fundraiser for Draperstown Celtic.
Thanks also to the various sponsors who contributed so generously and to the teams which entered the classic which ensured a wonderful event. The competition has grown in strength each year and planning has already begun to ensure that next year’s event will be the biggest yet.
